Ronald McDonald House Westmead

10 am tour of the house with morning tea supplied. Your group is split in two for the tour. Half have morning tea and then tour while the other half have their tour then morning tea.

Tour of Parramatta District
Our guide will join you at the conclusion of your tour of Ronald McDonald House for a tour of the Parramatta district. During this tour we will visit a tranquil waterway, Parramatta Lake, and hear stories of its use as the local water supply.

Pass the grim walls of the early male and female gaols and hear scandalous stories of the past. Travel the old main street for hilarious tales of convict innkeepers. See remnants of the old Parramatta inland port with the HMAS Parramatta Memorial and view three historic houses in Harris Park, which include the oldest domestic dwelling and the first land grant in Australia.

After a buffet lunch at Rosehill Bowling Club, we will have a guided tour of St Patricks Cathedral recently rebuilt after a disastrous fire.

If time permits we will tour Parramatta Park, site of the earliest public building, earliest convict cottage and the first landing strip for Australian aviators before leaving the district to travel home

Tour of Parramatta District (Driver Commentary)
Our driver will join you at the conclusion of your tour of Ronald McDonald House for a tour of the Parramatta district. During this tour we will visit a tranquil waterway, Parramatta Lake, and hear stories of its use as the local water supply, and have a walk around the lake. 

After a full buffet lunch at Rosehill Bowling Club, we pass the grim walls of the early male and female gaols and hear scandalous stories of the past, Parramatta Gaol, St Johns Cemetery (oldest First Fleeters buried here). See remnants of the old Parramatta inland port with the HMAS Parramatta Memorial and view three historic houses in Harris Park, which include the oldest domestic dwelling and the first land grant in Australia. Parramatta Historical Tour

Travel to historical Parramatta, meet with local historian for a tour Elizabeth Farm and Parramatta area. We will have morning tea at lovely Parramatta Lakes, and then our guide will take us on our interesting and informative tour where we will learn about some of our productive and visionary pioneers. For our lunch, we will stop at Rosehill Bowling Club. After lunch we will finish our tour and travel home.

Parramatta River Cat

We travel into the city (Sydney) and have morning tea stop at The Rocks (top of George Street), then drop in to 1st Fleet Park in The Rocks to Circular Quay to join the River Cat Jetty No 5. Travel to Parramatta on the River Cat and rejoin your coach (with a guide optional) and have a tour of historical Parramatta. We will lunch at Rosehill Bowling Club. After our lunch break, we finish our tour and return home.

Bankstown Telstra Museum

A volunteer based Museum that manages and displays the NSW component of Telstra's historical telecommunications industry photographs, artefacts and memorabilia. There is no charge except for a gold coin donation. They are open Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but can only take 25-30 people at a time. The tour is 2-2.5 hours duration.

Powerhouse Discovery Centre and Old Government House

Turn back time and visit the Powerhouse Discovery Centre at Castle Hill. It offers the visitor a behind the scenes access to their extensive and diverse collection for the first time. Our guide will talk us through the displays of days gone by. See Harry's Café De Wheels Pie Cart from 1940's, Cobb and Co Coach and much more.

After lunch (Rosehill Bowling Club) we visit Old Government House, the residence of 10 early Governors including Governor and Mrs Macquarie who preferred the clean air and space of Parramatta to the crime ridden streets of Sydney Town.

Newington Armoury

Newington Armoury is a special place. Formerly the Royal Australian Naval Armament Depot (RANAD), it features over 100 heritage buildings of various ages and types, set amidst a 52 hectare riverside landscape of undulating hills and woodlands.

Situated between the southern bank of the Parramatta River and the suburb of Newington, Newington Armoury can be accessed via Jamieson St, with free parking available at Blaxland Riverside Park.

We arrive at the Blaxland Riverside Park 9.30 am and have our morning tea. At 10.00 am we have a 45 minute walking tour of the Armoury with a guide. We then we board a historic train and tour the rest of the area for 55 minutes.

12.00pm we depart and travel to the Rosehill Bowling Club where we will have an all you can eat buffet lunch. After lunch we have a short tour around Parramatta then make our way home to our pick up point.

Ticket to Ryde

Take "Ticket to Ryde" to one of Sydney's original townships. Enjoy morning tea at Kissing Point alongside the site of Sydney's first and famous Brewery established by hop farmer James Squire. Visit the renowned and historic St Anne's Anglican Church and see its magnificent stained glass windows, plus the historic grave of Granny Smith (apple fame).

Walk with your guide through the Old Village of Ryde and see the heritage buildings including the beautifully restored Courthouse and Wesleyan Parsons residence. Following that, we have lunch at the Ryde-Eastwood Leagues Club. After lunch take a guided tour through the leafy peninsula suburb of Hunters Hill and on to Woolwich to view the spot where the Lane Cove and Parramatta Rivers meet up with the waters of Sydney Harbour. We depart and make our way home.

Katoomba Tour

Travel through the Greater Western Suburbs, then up through the lower Blue Mountains for a morning tea stop on the way. After morning tea we travel further up into the mountains via the Historic railway towns of Woodford, Springwood and then passing the explorers villages of Lawson and Wentworth Falls. Continue to the Blue Mountains capital of Katoomba for a cliff top tour. Visit the Three Sisters; view the Jamison and Megalong Valleys to Govetts Leap. On our way to our lunch stop drive past and view the Grand Old Carrington Hotel. After lunch make our way home arriving late afternoon.
